WE ENCOURAGE ALL MEMBERS TO BRING A FRIEND Thursday, July 2nd @ 2 P.M. “NOVICE MEETING” Doors open at 1:30. The
topic will be part four of “Let’s get started on
Microsoft Office”. This will be the final week
for Microsoft Office and will cover a summary of
all its components. As mentioned before this
is some of the most powerful software ever
produced. Will it make your life easier? Only
you can answer this question. This will again
be an interactive session with all attendees
participating. Bring your questions & even your
computer if you like. Arrive early to listen in
or participate. As usual, there will be an open
forum prior to the main topic. Any questions
contact Dave Butner
dbbig23@charter.net. Thursday, July 9th @ 2 P.M. “MAC MEETING” The Cambria Computer Club July 2009 Mac Users meeting will be held in the Joslyn Center Conference Room at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30). The meeting topic will be "Google and Mac", presented by Jack Hennessy. Jack will survey the various products and services available from Google and how you might integrate them into your computing experience. Since a good portion of the material to be discussed will be cross-platform in nature, our PC using members are welcome to join us at this meeting. As usual, there will be an open forum prior to the main topic presentation, for questions and exchange of ideas. PREVIEW Thursday, July 16th @ 2 P.M. “GENERAL MEETING” Ron Crummit will review
and update the Internet software called
Skype. Skype is a piece of software, PC and MAC
compatible, which uses VOIP, and enables you to
make free Skype-to-Skype contacts to see and
talk to your loved ones and friends over your
computer. You can make calls to cell phones and
mobiles, send SMS, do free instant messaging,
free voicemail, and even forward calls to
another phone when you're offline, and much,
much more. There are also really cool video
features--all you need is a
webcam to
make
free video calls
or even
take photos of
yourself to personalize Skype. Skype
also allows you to call regular phones, (for a
reasonable fee), in the U.S. and Canada.
Featured on the “Opra Winfrey” Show, Skype is a
lot of fun. Come and see a live demonstration.
Any questions? email Ron at
rcrummit@charter.net.
